Bronze Quill (formerly known as Blue Wave Awards)
Due to submission deadlines coinciding with the 2010 Winter Games, the Bronze Quill Awards are on hiatus for 2010. The program is expected to return in Winter/Spring 2011. Consider submitting your local project this year to the national Silver Leaf Awards (see below).
IABC Canada Silver Leaf Awards

All that glitters is not always gold – sometimes it’s silver
Entry Deadline: Monday, August 16, 2010
Think silver. Silver bullet. Silver arrow. Silver sword. Silver screen. Silver Leaf! Harder than gold, glittering brilliant white, and a tribute to the passion for excellence of Canadian communicators. Take a look at this silver lining:
- We’ve ramped up our judging process, added a go-green option to protect the planet and your pocketbook and added and expanded categories to offer more opportunities to shine.
- We’re going green! Early bird deadline entries have been replaced with an option to send work samples on a CD or memory stick. This change will help to reduce your mailing and courier costs, and is better for the environment, to boot.
- We’ve extended the time frames, and added a few new categories so you can help us make it happen.
- For the first time in Silver Leaf Awards history, we will bring top communicators across Canada together to judge entries over a weekend as part of our Blue Ribbon Panel, modeled after the Gold Quill Blue Ribbon Panel.
- New categories have been added and others expanded (New Categories). In addition, student members can enter work in the student categories listed for each division.
- Watch for some nifty improvements to the judging process and evaluation techniques. Meanwhile, check out the Judging Criteria and Marks of a Winner.
If you feel the need for speed, fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a great ride!
