The International Association of Business Communicators BC Chapter (IABC/BC) is helping adoptive families in BC through their Gift of Communications program.
Gift of Communications started in 2001 by IABC International, which is based in San Francisco. The British Columbia chapter has adapted the program and has tailored it to meet the needs of member volunteers and local BC charities while still maintaining the spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility of the original program. The program brings together IABC members who volunteer in teams to help solve a non-profit’s communication issues. “It’s a win-win for our members and local charities,” says Catherine Ducharme, President of IABC/BC, adding that the program connects communicators with a project that showcases the communications and marketing profession.
