IABC/BC fall event kicks off the 2016/2017 season in style

It’s hard to believe that warm summer days and long hours of sunlight are behind us once again.  As we head into the fall and settle once again into our routines, it’s time to refocus on the year ahead. It’s also the time to reconnect with friends and colleagues who have returned from exciting summer holidays with all sorts of stories to tell.

The fall also marks the beginning of the 2015/2016 IABC/BC season. To celebrate the start of the new season, the BC Chapter hosted a kick-off event on September 22, at The Loft at Earls in Yaletown.

Food and drinks were aplenty as members from all over the Lower Mainland mixed and mingled with old friends and new.

Chapter president Sarah Parker welcomed attendees, and shared updates and goals for the upcoming year. Lydia Tay, Director of Volunteer Services, gave an update highlighting some of the volunteer positions available for the 2015/2016 season. Dana Helgason, Director of Special Events & Awards then helped Sarah draw the name of the lucky door prize winner, Gemma Lawrence. Gemma won a $100 gift card, sponsored by Camp Tech, to use towards one of their classes.

Thanks to everyone who attended the fall kick-off event. We look forward to seeing you and all of our members again at future events this season!
