Description

The British Columbia Seniors Living Association (BCSLA) is a voluntary, membership-driven organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of the best interests of its members, which include the owners and operators of Independent and Assisted Living communities in BC. As the face of British Columbian seniors continues to evolve, the organization has a unique and rewarding opportunity to listen to and respond to the seniors who are served. BCSLA works together with Independent and Assisted Living providers to form and strengthen vital resident-responsive communities that foster independence and freedom of choice for seniors with a proactive approach to health and wellness.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides leadership by working closely with the Board and a small team to achieve the goals, priorities and strategic vision of BC Seniors Living Association. He/she is responsible for building upon a member service-oriented organization that develops and delivers leading programs and training, protects the public interest, and establishes and maintains beneficial relationships with seniors, member organizations, industry, government, and other stakeholders. As an effective spokesperson and ‘face of the organization’, the CEO establishes a clear, confident direction in the province and takes a prominent leadership role within the seniors Independent and Assisted Living sector. The CEO ensures efficient operations, financial stability, proper regulation, ongoing promotion, growth, risk management and effective management of the organization.

The ideal candidate is a confident, ambitious and self-sufficient executive with excellent general business acumen and a minimum of 5 years’ experience growing an organization. You bring outstanding strategic thinking, communications, government and media relations, networking, marketing, and execution skills. This position also requires genuine collaboration, keen diplomacy, and the proven ability to add value across a large and diverse membership base. Experience in a regulated industry, familiarity working with a volunteer Board, and an understanding of the retirement living sector or a similar service industry would be beneficial.
