We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Corporate Services within the City of Burnaby’s senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the City Manager, and part of the City’s Management Committee, this key role oversees the City Clerk’s department including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, Legal department, Citizen Support Services, Corporate Communications, and the Administrative Services to the Mayor’s office.
A genuine commitment to the City’s Corporate Strategic Plan is a requirement which includes developing and committing to action the departmental strategies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid track record in senior leadership coupled with the ability to build credibility and maintain strong relationships with City Staff, Council, and external agencies. This encompasses excellent diplomatic skills, a focus on interdepartmental collaboration, and superior communication skills. Lastly, solid organizational and effective time management skills are vital to facilitate changing priorities and tight timelines.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree, preferably at a Masters level, in Business Administration, Communication, or other related field and ten (10) years senior level professional experience with substantial experience in a leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
