The Industry Training Authority (ITA) leads and coordinates British Columbia’s skilled trades system. ITA works with employers, employees, industry, labour, training providers and government to issue credentials, support apprenticeships, fund programs, set program standards, and increase opportunities in the trades. ITA is looking for a multi-faceted and collaborative individual to join their senior leadership team as the Director, Strategy. With a passion for building and implementing effective strategy cross-functionally and a depth of experience forging and supporting government and stakeholder relations, the Director, Strategy will play an integral role in ITA’s continued evolution.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Strategy will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for ITA’s policy, research & project management teams. The Director will effectively engage with the Board of Directors, executive and senior leadership groups in the development and continuous improvement of corporate strategy and innovative performance measures. The incumbent will also spearhead and lead strategic projects/initiatives, ensure strategic alignment across the organization and drive meaningful government relations activities.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and progressive leader who identifies strategic opportunities (both internally and externally) that will ensure ITA meets its government mandate obligations and addresses skilled labour market challenges with creativity and innovation, while partnering with industry to shape BC’s skilled trades workforce. A master relationship builder and a skillful advocate, the Director, Strategy will be a leader who can inspire their team and influence across the organization.
