The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications provides leadership and expertise for the corporate entity to help it achieve its communications and outreach goals. Areas of expertise will include strategic communications planning, media relations, employee communications, issues & crisis management and public affairs. This individual is also responsible for developing and implementing the communications plans and strategic initiatives related to building the reputation of Best Buy Canada and Best Buy brands. The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications liaises between the US and Canadian Communications teams and collaborates on enterprise initiatives as required.

As a Senior Manager of Corporate Communications you will…

  • Oversee the development and execution of all internal and external communications plans;
  • Develop the annual internal communications strategy and ensure BBYC has best in class channels to communicate to employees across the company
  • Develop the annual PR communications strategy and ensure the corporate message is clear and well-presented through all channels, from media and influencer relations to leadership presentations and corporate materials
  • Manage interview requests, speaking engagements and promotion of our Senior Leadership Team including briefing, training and content preparation
  • Make recommendations and provide counsel to the Director on key strategic communications issues and develops internal and external communications plans
  • Lead the management of crisis communication and oversees all media-related customer escalations to ensure appropriate resolution and risk mitigation

The experience we need…

  • 10+ years of corporate communication, PR, and/or Agency experience in a deadline driven, multi-stakeholder, fast paced environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or related field preferred

Bonus points…

  • Prior experience in retail, consumer goods and / or a technology related field Tech or social media enthusiast
  • Passion for corporate communications with experience in both internal and external
