Description

As a Stakeholder Engagement Summer Student with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of Stakeholder Engagement and Communication experts. This position is based in our Burnaby office. Learn from your Leader, the Manager, External Relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting documents such as correspondence, templated reports, plans, briefing notes, and other documents.
  • Coordinating material development for new/updated content.
  • Events logistics including but not limited to booking venues, purchasing event tickets, coordinating attendance, and materials at/for events.
  • Monitoring events for content of interest to Trans Mountain.
  • Researching, preparing and updating contact lists.
  • Coordinating mail outs.
  • Draft and organize process documents and templates.
  • Engagement tracking, reporting and research/data collection for regular progress reporting.
  • Support for processing Community Investment Program requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Communications, Stakeholder Engagement program or related post-secondary program, preferably in 2nd or 3rd of program.
  • Working knowledge of Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Organized, self-starter that is able to work in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Other Requirements and Information

  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and return to full time studies in the fall.
  • Preference for a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • Flexible work week; may need to work evenings or weekends.
