You are a skilled crafter of engaging web content and a tech savvy communicator with web development skills. As Webmaster and Communications Assistant at North Vancouver School District 44 (NVSD), your role is to update the public and staff on the district’s current events and produce engaging web content on the district’s various websites.

This role will require you to work independently and under the direction of the Communications Manager. In this customer service oriented role, you will also liaise regularly with NVSD’s various departments and district staff to stay up-to-date with North Vancouver’s programs, schools, and initiatives

With a pulse on the District’s happenings, you will produce and publish text and visual content for NVSD’s public website, internal staff portal, Enhancing Student Learning website and other school websites.

Collaborating with district staff, you will ensure that the content produced for these sites is on-message, creative, engaging and abiding by the policies of the district. You will also guide staff to ensure that everything published adheres to policies, practices, and legislative requirements regarding copyright, privacy, security and confidential student information.

Ultimately, the value of your work will help keep the public and district staff informed while supporting North Vancouver’s strategic vision and communications plan.

As an ideal candidate, you should have a strong communications background having completed a post-secondary training program in Communications, Journalism or a related field. Supplementing your technical skills, you have relevant training and/or experience in content publishing/management applications and possess basic HTML programming skills. Otherwise, you should possess at least three years of related experience and/or equivalent training.
