DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\nJoin IABC/BC’s first Public Sector SIG virtu
 al session\, with a focus on the role of transparency and trust in communi
 cations.\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nAs constant\, two-way
  communication between organizations and the public becomes the norm\, com
 municators are dealing with higher expectations\, increased pressure and l
 arger audiences than ever before. When a high-pressure situation arises an
 d stakeholders turn to you with questions\, is it better to wait until you
  have all the facts before responding publicly? Give a non-answer? Tell yo
 ur audience that you’re working on finding answers to their questions?\n
 \nDuring this SIG event\, we’ll explore the role of transparency and tru
 st in communications. We’ll discuss suggested practices\, professional l
 essons\, successes in addressing trust\, and how too much transparency can
  become a problem. Be ready for a lively conversation as we take a deep di
 ve into one of communications’ biggest challenges.\n\n___________\n\nFac

 nJessica is a digital marketing and communications professional with over
  8 years of experience in higher education\, healthcare and technology. Sh
 e currently leads digital marketing at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine. Prior 
 to this\, Jessica led digital marketing for Vancouver Coastal Health and U
 BC’s student recruitment team.Jessica enjoys translating emerging social
  media and digital marketing trends for the public sector\, and integratin
 g social with strategic communications goals.\n\n___________\n\nCourtney 
 is a marketing and communications strategist who helps organizations craft
  meaningful stories\, messages and experiences that resonate. Courtney spe
 cializes in health and public safety communications and marketing\, and ha
 s previously worked at the BC Patient Safety &amp\; Quality Council and Va
 ncouver Coastal Health. Presently\, she leads marketing and communications
  for safety initiatives at Technical Safety BC. When she’s not at her ke
 yboard\, you can find Courtney boxing\, practicing ukelele or trying to ma
