DESCRIPTION:Join IABC Houston and our panel of experts on Wednesday\, May 2
 6\, for a virtual webinar on resilience\, preparedness and interagency coo
 rdination within cyber security\, infrastructure and related industries re
 quiring agile emergency response.\n\nOur panel will share insights into th
 e programs and curriculum that are being developed around critical resilie
 nce topics\, how key industry players should prepare to activate in the ca
 se of an emergency or crisis\, and how entities involved in an emergency r
 esponse should coordinate.\nSpeakers\nDr. Stephen Flynn | Northeastern Uni
 versity\nDr. Stephen Flynn is the Founding Director of the Global Resilie
 nce Institute at Northeastern University where he leads a major university
 -wide research initiative to inform and advance societal resilience in the
  face of growing human-made and naturally-occurring turbulence. At Northea
 stern\, he is also Professor of Political Science with faculty affiliation
 s in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the School 
 of Public Policy &amp\; Urban Affairs.\n\nDr. Flynn is recognized as one o
 f the world’s leading experts on critical infrastructure and supply chai
 n security and resilience. He is co-author of the textbook\, Critical Infr
 astructures Resilience: Policy and Engineering Principles (Routledge\, 201
 8) and has led teams in conducting post-disaster infrastructure resilience
  assessments\, initially with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation\
 , and then from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In 2014\, Flynn 
 was appointed by the Secretary of Homeland Security to serve as a member o
 f the Homeland Security Science and Technology Advisory Council (HSSTAC). 
 He also serves as chair of the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) Sec
 urity Advisory Committee. Additionally\, he holds research affiliations wi
 th the Wharton School’s Risk Management and Decision Processes Center\, 
 and the Earth Institute at Columbia University. He previously served as Fo
 unding Co-Director of the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland
  Security at Northeastern University. Dr. Flynn is also the principal for 
 Stephen E. Flynn Associates LLC\, where he provides independent advisory s
 ervices on improving critical infrastructure security and resilience. Read
  More.\n\n&nbsp\;\nJudge Ed Emmett | Rice University\nJudge Ed Emmett is 
 a Fellow in Energy and Transportation at Rice University’s Baker Institu
 te for Public Policy. He is also a Senior Fellow at Rice University’s Ki
 nder Institute for Urban Research. As a professor in the practice\, Emmett
  teaches classes in transportation economics and policy as well as social 
 policy. In addition\, Professor Emmett is a Distinguished Senior Fellow wi
 thin Northeastern University’s Global Resilience Institute.\n\nSince 200
 5\, Emmett is the owner of The Emmett Company\, a consulting firm advising
  public and private entities in transportation policy\, emergency manageme
 nt\, international marketing and strategic development. From 2007 until 20
 19\, Emmett served as County Judge of Harris County\, Texas. As County Jud
 ge\, Emmett was the Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management
 \, a role which established him as a national leader in emergency response
  and community resilience.\n\nA member of the Texas House of Representativ
 es from 1979 to 1987\, Judge Emmett was chairman of the Committee on Energ
 y\, a member of the Transportation Committee\, and represented the state o
 n numerous national committees relating to energy and transportation polic
 y. In 1989\, President George H. W. Bush nominated Emmett as a Commissione
 r at the Interstate Commerce Commission. After being confirmed unanimously
  by the United States Senate\, Judge Emmett served on the commission for t
