DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThis IABC/BC pop-up SIG offers a safe\, open space for co
 mmunications professionals to share their take on the F word: feelings.\n\
 n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n"Communications professionals across the 
 globe have kept teams connected and held organizations together\, but this
  has come at a cost to the exhausted individuals whose mental health is su

 entre for Strategic Communication Excellence (CSCE)\, chair of the Global 
 Communication Certification Council (GCCC) and former IABC regional and ch
 apter leader.\nHave you ever wondered how some people are able to stay cal
 m in the most stressful situations? Or maybe you’re looking for ways to 
 destress and tackle your anxious thoughts? More importantly\, how are you 
 really feeling these days?\n\nThis pop-up SIG is intended to offer a safe\
 , open space for IABC/BC members to share their take on the F word: feeli
 ngs. While we’re not mental health professionals\, research confirms tha
 t support from a group of people with shared experience is a key part of h
 elping someone who is going through a mental illness or injury. This suppo
 rt provides a network of practical and emotional help.\n\nSo\, next Blue 
 Monday\, join us at the first SIG of 2022 for the opportunity to share\, b
 e heard and identify some areas of mental well-being that may be unique to
  the communications profession.\nFacilitators\nSIG Co-Chairs Gunjan Kafil 
 and José Vargas\n\n___________\n\nJosé is a communications professional
  with more than 12 years of experience in the public and private sectors. 
 He is currently a senior market manager (strategic communications and bran
 d advancement) for TELUS Health\, where they are leveraging the power of t
 echnology to provide Canadians with better health outcomes.\n\nJosé recen
 tly completed Jeff Warren’s 30-day How to Meditate course and would like
  to leverage IABC/BC’s SIG community to reflect on the state of mental h
 ealth in our profession.\n\n___________\n\nGunjan is an award-winning com
 munications professional with 14 years of communications experience buildi
 ng global brands across Asia\, the Middle East and North America.\n\nGunja
 n has been a member of IABC since 2020\, supporting initiatives in Toronto
 \, British Columbia and the Canada West region. Since 2012\, Gunjan has de
 livered award-winning wellness campaigns and led Employee Engagement and W
 ellness at Expo 2020 Dubai.\n\nGunjan has also climbed two of the Seven Su
 mmits and a few other mountains. Gunjan enjoys running and has completed n
 early 50 races comprising 10 KM\, 21 KM and vertical runs. As a trained Yo
 ga teacher and a lover of the outdoors\, Gunjan is keen to share the joys
