SUMMARY:The Communicator’s Role in Indigenous Equity\, Diversity and Incl
 usion
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nHow can we\, as communicators\, foster reconciliation\, e
 quity\, inclusion\, and belonging in the workplace?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout t
his Event\n\n\n\nEquity\, diversity\, and inclusion (EDI) conversations an
d initiatives have increased dramatically in the past year through the Bla
ck Lives Matter movement and the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on ma
rginalized communities. However\, as Canadians\, these conversations aren
’t complete without Indigenous peoples’ perspectives. How can we activ
ely welcome Indigenous world views into our ways of thinking\, doing\, and
being in the workplace?\n\nAs professional communicators\, we have incred
ible power and potential to influence meaningful cultural changes through
words and actions across platforms. What better way to accomplish this tha
n by listening to and understanding Indigenous voices?\n\nThis professiona
l development event will include presentations and a panel discussion with
Indigenous comms professionals on ways we can achieve truly actionable eq
uity and inclusion for Indigenous and First Nations voices in communicatio
ns\, followed by a short Q&amp\;A session with the audience.\nEvent detail
