Description

As a bilingual Communications Coordinator with Trans Mountain, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of professionals as part of the Stakeholder Engagement & Communications team. This position is based in our Burnaby Regional office.

Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the primary responsibility of the bilingual Communications Coordinator is to assist with the execution of Trans Mountain’s French-language external content on its website and social media, assist with the translation process and document control as well as community management of Trans Mountain’s social media channels. The coordinator will also contribute to the development of all content including key messages, website and blog content, communications planning and materials in support of Trans Mountain’s communications and engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily management of Trans Mountain’s translation process for its blog posts, social posts and other external content including filing of documents on SharePoint.
  • Respond to inquiries on social media in French with approved messaging, directing to existing Trans Mountain digital assets or escalating where appropriate.
  • Assist and/or participate in key public outreach events including workshops, open houses, etc. as necessary, providing services for the team in French.
  • Assist overall Stakeholder Engagement & Communications team where necessary including research, communications drafts, key messages, materials development etc.
  • Posting content for the website in French and English.
  • Document control and file management for communications team.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Post-secondary education or experience in Communications or a related discipline.
  • Fluent in French and English, both oral and written are required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in communications.
  • Previous experience in social media community management.
  • Experience with Hootsuite or other social media management platforms is an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience with Content Management Systems and Google Analytics an asset.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Other Requirements and Information

  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Site and/or project office work; flexible work week which may include Saturdays.
  • One-year contract with a possibility of an extension.
