Mammoth Forestry is looking for an energetic, creative, flexible, and personable self-starter to fill the role of Communications and Event Coordinator to support a seasonal wildfire preparedness public education program.

Working with a team of Wildfire Experts and reporting to the Team Leader and Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement a communications plan and marketing strategy for a public education campaign related to community wildfire preparedness
- Organize, plan, and execute events related to community wildfire preparedness, including information sessions, awareness events, trade shows, neighbourhood workshops, training events, etc.
Required experience, skills, and qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, or a related field
- Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, and event management
- Ability to design, manage, and implement social media and other online content
- Ability to create compelling news releases, PSAs, articles, collateral materials, etc.
- Professional verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to speak in public and take a leadership role at meetings and events
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt to changing circumstances
- Ability to navigate a complex stakeholder environment with social and political awareness
- Ability to work within a budget
Preferred experience, skills, and qualifications:
- Experience developing and implementing communications plans and marketing strategies
- Experience in public education campaigns and community outreach programs
- A general knowledge of wildfire prevention (training provided to those with no previous wildfire experience)
- Experience in landscaping, forestry, or vegetation management
- Experience in customer service and volunteer management
