Contribute to the community and our vision to be the best mid-sized city in North America by joining the City as a Communications Consultant. The Communications team delivers a full range of initiatives to support the City’s focus on customer service, community and business engagement.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional who thinks strategically, writes proficiently and develops strong working relationships. As a member of our corporate communications team, you will coordinate correspondence for Mayor and Council, monitor and respond to social media enquiries, write web content, news releases and news articles about city services and operations, and contribute to internal publications. You are a communications professional with strong interpersonal skills and tact who thinks strategically and develops professional working relationships. The flexibility to balance priorities and multiple projects is also essential.
The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in communications/public relations or journalism, along with experience in corporate communications.
We offer career and professional development, progressive employment practices and a great work environment. This is an exempt position that offers a starting salary range of $61,000 to $71,000 per year, along with a competitive benefit package.
