Based in the progressive Guildford area of Surrey, the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) is an association of over 5,100 real estate professionals who live and work in the BC communities of North Delta, Surrey, White Rock, Langley, Abbotsford, and Mission. The FVREB marked its 100-year anniversary in 2021.

The IDEAL Candidate

We are looking for someone with solid experience in the effective delivery of communications strategy for external and internal audiences, including social media channels, intranets, and other apps or communications platforms, preferably in a membership not-for-profit organization.

It goes without saying that you’re a great team player who works well collaboratively and have a high level of personal and professional integrity.

What You’ll Do

Internal – member-facing digital and social channels – 45%

Regularly update members through digital channels and ensure FVREB Connect, and other websites are current, and that content is focused on key issues, tools, and services to ensure a high level of member engagement and support.
Update mailing and other access lists approve connections for social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), to maintain the integrity of FVREB channels.
Develop content, graphics, infographics, video, and audio content to amplify key messages and to support strategic initiatives, including FVREB’s giving arm, the FVRCF.
Contribute to the development of plans regarding the introduction of new or evolving digital channels and participate in the implementation of such plans.
Monitor social channels analytics and prepare reports, as necessary.

Communications Projects – 30%

Contribute to a range of projects to support engagement of members, and the public to elevate the public profile of the FVREB brand.

External – Public-facing digital and social channels – 25%

Develop content, graphics, infographics, video, and audio content to amplify key messages and to support strategic initiatives, including FVREB’s giving arm, the FVRCF.
Moderate posts to ensure engagement remains consistent with FVREB brand standards and professional expectations.
Monitor traditional and social media analytics and prepare reports, as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

Degree in communications or related discipline, plus 2-5 years' corporate communications experience in digital and social media, and community management.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office and marketing automation software.
Experience with design and production software, including Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.
Experience producing high quality written materials for newsletters, websites, and print.
Extensive experience working with social media.
Experience with video editing and photography.
Ability to distil complex topics into easily consumable formats.
Ability to handle shifting priorities and a variety of tasks.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to liaise with administrative, creative and management stakeholders.
Ability to be flexible and wear many hats.
Detail oriented, natural collaborator and creative problem solver.
Team oriented disposition with the ability to work independently.
