We are seeking a Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Manager within our shared services division at any of our regional offices in Penticton, Langley, Victoria, or Duncan, BC.
The Stakeholder Engagement Manager works closely with the AVP Strategic Initiatives and Government Relations to develop, manage and implement comprehensive stakeholder communication and awareness strategies in support of First West’s long-term strategic growth programs. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with First West’s members and employees, ensuring these diverse stakeholder groups understand, engage with and participate in the credit union’s vision and growth initiatives. The position will also contribute to the credit union’s work with federal and provincial government stakeholders. Specifically, this role will lead communications for two large, cross-organizational bodies of work as well as major ancillary or related projects, each led and/or advised by executive leaders.
Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day:

Developing and implementing an engaging, comprehensive internal, member, media and key external stakeholder communications programs specific to First West’s strategic growth initiatives

Managing internal and external social media environments and experiences related to the credit union’s strategic initiatives

Working with the government relations team, research potential issues and amendments to federal and provincial financial institutions’ statutes and regulations that might affect First West’s growth initiatives

Master’s in a related field preferred, with a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalisms, and/or political science

5 years in communications and government relations

Demonstrated experience in corporate social media management

Knowledge of provincial and federal government operations, preferably relating to financial services industry.

Solid understanding and proven experience in employee communication methodologies, principles and practices

Excellent analytical and creative problem solving with the ability to make decisions in a changing environment and communicate strategically

Proven ability to manage changing priorities/tight deadlines effectively in a very fast-paced environment ensuring risk mitigation and issue resolution
