Description

ICBC’s Communications Delivery team has an exciting 12-month opportunity for an experienced Digital Communications Specialist. We are looking for a strategic, creative thinker with expert knowledge of the social media industry. You have produced engaging, well-written and accurate content across all digital channels.

You are an enthusiastic professional with two to four years of content development and/or marketing experience with a focus on digital, ideally in a large, complex environment.  

You stay on top of the latest trends and social media best practices, and have been responsible for providing detailed analysis and reporting on social media campaigns and initiatives for internal clients and working groups.

  • Monitor media, social mentions and influencer activity to identify trends and recommend online strategies to internal clients
  • Participate in cross-functional work groups to advance organizational initiatives
  • Experience in writing for all media, with proven success in creating engaging digital content across multiple channels
  • Author and publish on our SharePoint CMS
  • Calculate budgetary requirements and scope for social media advertisements, paid SEO tactics and digital advertising
  • Facilitate the creation of graphic and video assets with campaign stakeholders and departments
  • Support ICBC’s overall social media strategy

The ideal candidate is dynamic and innovative, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of the following areas is also required:

  • Principles and practices of writing and editing for digital media
  • Excellent grasp of the written language, including grammar, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines and produce quality work under pressure in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Principles and practices of engaging users through social media

The above requirements would typically be met through completion of post-secondary education in communications, marketing or digital content or web writing, and a few years of related experience in writing and editing for the digital platforms.
