Overview

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity in the Communications and Education Division for an experienced communicator to direct the day-to-day operations of all investor education and engagement work of the Division.

 

In this key position, you will supervise and coordinate the work of a small team, and provide strategic direction for current and future investor education and engagement activities. Management of the BCSC’s investor education website, InvestRight.org, is an important part of this role, as is the strategic development of new investor education and engagement opportunities that align with the BCSC’s mission to make the investment markets benefit the public, enabling people to achieve their financial goals, enterprises to grow, and British Columbia to thrive.  You will also provide assistance and leadership in implementing the Division’s Operating Plan and the BCSC’s annual Service Plan.

 

A strong and effective communicator, you have the ability to lead and work collaboratively.  You have excellent oral and written communications skills. Sound judgment and strategic and creative thinking round out your skill set.

 

You are a motivated, seasoned communicator with a minimum of seven (7) years of industry experience. You have a post-secondary degree in communications or related field, or the equivalent combination of experience and education in the area of investor education and corporate communications including supervisory/management experience.  With a history of delivering concrete results, you work well under pressure and tight deadlines, and have experience managing a budget.

 

An understanding of the financial services industry and Canadian Securities Course completion is also considered an asset.
