Purpose/Accountabilities

As key member of the team, this role is involved in strengthening the position of this sector through developing and delivering creative content as well as being instrumental in communicating the value of membership through various communications channels with a strong focus on digital and social media. The Marketing Communications Coordinator is also instrumental in supporting the planning and execution of both education and networking events for members. Some key responsibilities are:

  • Creates advertisements, digital newsletters, social media posts, sponsorship packages
  • Creates marketing collateral and presentation materials
  • Supports the planning and execution of all marketing communications requirements
  • Researches projects as needed
  • Builds and maintains assets database (photos and videos)
  • Updates website content
  • Supports Membership and Events Manager with logistics and planning for events, including liaising with third party vendors such as venues, caterers, entertainment agents, and audio visual companies
  • Supports execution of continuing professional development, including liaising with instructors and students;

Experience in the following is an asset:

  • Website platforms (i.e. Word Press)
  • Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Newsletter communications
  • Event coordination
  • PowerPoint
  • Photo and video editing

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, Event Planning or Communications preferred
  • Minimum two years of direct related experience
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • A valid and clean BC Driving License
  • Ability to work/attend events that are sometimes held in the evenings/weekends.
