The organization has positioned itself as an active, in-house asset manager with sophisticated strategies operating within an increasingly complex investment environment. With the growth and transformation of the corporation, BCI recognizes the importance of expanding its external communication function to align with the increased profile of the organization and the needs of an active in-house asset manager that provides investment services to its 29 institutional clients that have entrusted BCI to manage their capital. As such, there now exists an opportunity for a new Senior (Sr.) Communication Advisor to join this critical growing team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Stakeholder Engagement, the Sr. Communication Advisor will take on a critical role tasked with leading and supporting the production of external material, contributing to the development of BCI’s overall external communications strategy, and assisting with initiatives that will allow BCI to raise its public profile. Responsibilities may include producing collateral materials and corporate publications such as the corporate annual report, ESG annual report, and briefings and reports on new and existing BCI investment programs and strategies. As well, the Senior Communication Advisor will support the Manager on advancing BCI’s social media program, monitoring and managing issues, speaking engagement and corporate sponsorships, and participating in crisis communications.
The ideal candidate will be a communications professional with strong understanding of investment, capital markets and financial concepts. They will possess superior writing and editing skills and an ability to express complex concepts in a clear and concise fashion; understanding how to tailor a message to executives as well as to ‘lay’ audiences. Experience working in a dynamic environment where they had to produce content on a deadline would be a tremendous asset. The Sr. Communication Advisor must also have a strong orientation toward collaboration and be able to work with internal and external stakeholders.
