Description

Do you have the knack for producing engaging communications material in a government setting across all types of media? This exempt position is responsible for the leadership, organization, and supervision of Delta’s communications team. The successful candidate will provide great communications service across the City’s social media channels, coordinate Delta’s communications efforts during emergency events, oversee Delta’s corporate website, including the development of a new website, prepare strategic communications protocols and plans, and write and edit news releases, advertisements, social media posts, speeches, newsletters, and internal communications. Some evening and weekend work will be required to stay current with social media and facilitate emergent posts for the Mayor and City Manager.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and produce high quality work on extremely tight deadlines. While effective and engaging writing is your calling card, you will also have in depth knowledge of new media and the ability to access and utilize data and analytics to enhance the effectiveness of Delta’s communications efforts. Skills in graphics, website content management systems, and video are value-added assets.
