The Vice President University Relations has a broad and deep mandate to lead, champion and advance Athabasca University’s internal and external relations priorities. As a key member of the senior executive team, the Vice President University Relations will have overall responsibility for ensuring operational excellence and high-quality delivery in internal and external relations matters, including institutional communication, community relations, government relations, corporate and professional relations, fundraising, marketing, student recruitment and partnerships. Reporting to the President, the Vice President University Relations serves an integral role in the development and implementation of the strategic communications and marketing priorities for Athabasca University

 

A proven and influential leader, the successful candidate will have demonstrable and significant senior level communications and marketing experience within a complex, rapidly changing environment. The Vice President, University Relations will combine pragmatism with vision, be a creative problem solver who has the ability to take calculated risks and will appreciate the complexities of working within a dispersed workforce as well as respect the role open access and online education plays in today’s society.
