Description

JUSTICE INSTITUTE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

Vice-President, Brand, Communications and Engagement

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (“JIBC” or “the Institute”) is Canada’s leading public safety educator with a mission to develop dynamic justice and public safety professionals through its exceptional applied education, training, and research. JIBC offers an internationally recognized education that leads to certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, and graduate certificates. The Institute provides exceptional continuing education for work and career-related learning and development, and customized contract training to government agencies and private organizations worldwide.

Recognizing the need to evolve the communications and marketing portfolio to add even greater value to the organization, JIBC undertook a significant review and mapped out several recommendations resulting in the development of their “Next Gen Communications and Marketing” plan.  The first immediate change was the establishment of a new Vice-President to the Executive Committee: Vice-President, Brand, Communications and Engagement.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Brand, Communications & Engagement will lead integrated marketing and communications strategies and plans to position JIBC as an outstanding provider of high-quality education and training in the public safety, justice and social justice sectors of British Columbia. This position oversees brand and reputation management, marketing, and internal and external communications, including media and community engagement, public relations, government relations, social, digital, and online media, advertising and print publications, and supports efforts to keep JIBC students well informed of JIBC activities.

As the ideal candidate, you bring current relevant experience in a related field with a minimum of five years at a senior management level, ideally in the post-secondary sector, public/municipal service, and/or working in or exposure to first responder professions. Additionally, you have executive-level experience in strategy development, business planning, and strong business and financial acumen.
