BCLC's role is to manage and operate the province's gambling industry and maintain integrity and security for all players. One of BCLC’s core values is social responsibility.  It has had a Social Responsibility Charter since 2010 and has been reporting on social responsibility measures for over a decade.

Going forward, BCLC seeks a broader, more holistic social purpose mandate. The company is positioned to leverage its long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility to carve out a new social purpose and bring it to life across the organization. This is a newly reconfigured role with a fresh mandate to define the company’s core social purpose ambition and secure partnerships that will position the organization as a leader among Crown corporations and in the gambling and entertainment industries.

The VP, Social Purpose & Stakeholder Engagement leads a large team and is responsible for social purpose, stakeholder relations, communications, Player Health, and the Customer Support Centre. This role provides advice and counsel to the Executive Team and Board of Directors, which is critical in building the organization’s social purpose and in the strategic management of BCLC’s social impacts and external reputation.  Reporting to the President and CEO, and working collegially with the Executive, the Vice-President, Social Purpose & Stakeholder Engagement will execute the corporate strategy, support BCLC's operations, and implement decisions of the Board. The role develops and achieves the strategic vision for the department that will drive short-term initiatives and long-term corporate strategy.

As the ideal candidate, you bring 10+ years of senior leadership experience that includes social purpose /corporate social responsibility/sustainability and stakeholder engagement / corporate communications.
