Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) is an innovative library system with one of the highest per capita usage rates in Canada. Our vision is to inspire literacy, lifelong learning and community enrichment for all. Serving more than 380,000+ residents in the Greater Victoria area, we provide library service to 10 municipalities.

This position reports to and is accountable to the Director, Library Services, Planning and Engagement and is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the following: developing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring GVPL’s marketing, communications, and development strategies and tactics to align with the Library’s strategic and operational priorities.

This position supervises and leads a marketing and development team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality internal and external communication, branding and marketing services; as well as donor engagement, stewardship and pursuit of philanthropic opportunities. The Coordinator, Marketing and Development will work closely with the Director and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective marketing and development solutions to increase the capacity, and demonstrate the value, of the organization. This position will also define and implement procedures and best practices specific to the role.
