Description

The City of Langley has an exciting opportunity for a casual Communications Assistant in the Administration Department. Reporting to the Communications Officer, this position assists in the preparation and distribution of all print and digital communications for the City. The work includes writing and editing tasks, developing and editing web and social media content, monitoring and maintaining social media pages, participating in various research, posters, signage, and display materials, and assisting with planning and executing special events. This position also provides administrative support.

The successful candidate should have excellent writing skills and have a good amount of knowledge and experience with writing for the web and social media and excels at setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and working independently. A high level of attention to detail is a must. The incumbent must also have completion of grade 12 supplemented with communications courses related to the work including web and design, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Typical hours of work fall between 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday.

RATE OF PAY:                Pay Grade 15: $29.68 - $31.06 per hour (2021 C.U.P.E. rate)

Casual employees are paid 12.5% in lieu of all paid benefits.
