Contribute to the community and our vision to be the best mid-sized city in North America by joining the City as a Communications Advisor. The Communications team delivers a full range of initiatives to support the City’s focus on customer service, community and business engagement.
You will work with the team at the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) to market various initiatives and events, coordinate all media relations and develop and implement a variety of internal and external communication strategies using traditional and online channels. We are seeking a communications professional with strong interpersonal skills who thinks strategically and develops solid working relationships. YLW is one of the top 11 busiest airports in Canada so your ability to balance priorities and multiple projects is critical.
The successful candidate will have a university degree in Communications or Public Relations, and will have a proven track record in strategic communications, media relations, crisis communications, issues management and social media. The ability to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance is required and on-call work can be expected.
