PHSA is seeking two creative, compassionate and all-round outstanding communicators to join our team as officers.

We’re looking for big picture thinkers who - using an inclusive, equitable and anti-racist lens - create and execute on thoughtful communication strategies, supporting exceptional patient care and supporting our employees in this work.

Our communications officers are integral to our organization. You will work alongside health care providers and research leaders known around the world for treatment, innovation and care. Being a trusted advisor regarding highly complex issues and projects will keep you busy.

Working with both internal and external stakeholders and facilitating key relationships, communications officers bring their storytelling expertise to their role to produce communications that are high quality, consistent and in alignment with the strategic priorities for PHSA and the specific program.

The opportunities:

Communications Officer, Provincial Programs

Coordinating strategies for specialized health care across B.C is vital, complex and challenging work. PHSA supports health system improvement and innovation through provincial programs including Cardiac Services BC, Trans Care BC, Perinatal Services BC and many more. How we communicate about these programs helps set the stage for province-wide improvements, in partnership with health system stakeholders, providers and patients.

Communications, BC Emergency Health Services

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is responsible for the delivery and governance of pre-hospital emergency medical care and inter-facility patient transfer services through the BC Ambulance Service and BC Patient Transfer Services. This role provides communications services and advice for BCEHS, its programs, services and achievements, including news releases and story pitches, digital content, issue notes, key messages for interviews and prepare spokespeople for interviews.
