Following is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join our Communications Team.


The Role

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for the strategy, implementation and evaluation of corporate communications initiatives aimed at maintaining and building the company’s brand across Canada.


What you’ll be doing

Corporate Communications

  • Formulate, manage and execute a comprehensive corporate communications strategy for both external and internal audiences
  • Identify and develop proactive opportunities to build the company’s brand
  • Lead authoring and distribution of content/news across all lines of business via blog articles, the monthly Blueprint newsletter, press releases and the company’s corporate social media channels
  • Create targeted PR pitches and liaise with media
  • Manage corporate brand and style guidelines and ensure brand standards, corporate messaging and content standards are met and consistent
  • Lead development and implementation of project-based corporate communications plans
  • Generate social media content on a daily basis
  • Monitor media and social media; repost and respond as required, and ensure staff adherence to social media guidelines
  • Evaluate social media metrics to ensure effectiveness of channels and campaigns and provide recommendations
  • Lead the creation of annual and quarterly reports for three corporate entities, Concert Properties, Concert Infrastructure and Concert Income Properties
  • Lead communications for corporate community initiatives (and support other relevant initiatives)
  • Edit content and material produced by others as appropriate
  • Create presentations for the senior management team, as required
  • Organize and execute special events, as required

Internal Communications

  • Lead communications for corporate community initiatives (and support other relevant initiatives)

  • Corporate Marketing
  • Lead the creation of corporate marketing collateral (both print and digital)
  • Lead the development of new corporate ads
  • Lead industry award submissions

Other

  • Create and manage annual budgets
  • Provide support to the broader Sales & Marketing department related to condominium, rental and seniors marketing, as required
  • Support corporate video productions and photo shoots

About you

  • Education or experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
  • Minimum of eight or more years of communications experience (both internal and external)
  • Hold a professional communications accreditation or designation (ABC, SCMP or APR) demonstrating knowledge of communications best practices is an asset
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Excellent image and video capture and editing/processing skills
  • Excellent social media skills
  • Strong computer skills, including InDesign, MS Office and social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Knowledge of Hootsuite, Drupal, Photoshop and Illustrator is an asset.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
  • Formal training in the use of social media and online marketing and communications tools
