The City of Pitt Meadows is looking for a permanent, part-time Graphic Designer to join our small but mighty Communications team to provide a full range of design and branding services for a variety of corporate and creative campaigns.
This position will help ensure the City is promoted with an engaging and consistent identity and brand to align communications campaigns and initiatives. This is not your run-of-the-mill graphic design job. Each day will be different and there are endless opportunities to be innovative and creative. The successful candidate will have experience designing and preparing a variety of internet and print graphic materials, including brochures, advertisements, posters, reports, signage, and social media visuals using the Adobe Creative Suite in collaboration with members of the Communications team. Responsibilities include interpreting and clarifying design requests; identifying objectives and developing and recommending graphic concepts suited to a particular project or objective; as well as providing rough layouts and final design.
Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Civic Engagement, the successful candidate will have completed a diploma in graphic design, plus related experience; or a combination of training and experience. Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) is a must, as well as Microsoft Office and other related social media tools. Experience updating corporate websites working within a content management system would be considered an asset. Bonus points if you have experience with Adobe Premier Pro or other video editing software. Samples of your work will be requested during the interview process.
This position will appeal to applicants who can commit to a permanent part time, flexible schedule. This is a CUPE position with a starting salary of $33.41 per hour, plus 10% in lieu of benefits.
