What You’ll Do 

As the Manager, Internal Communications (7-Month Maternity Leave Contract) at Metrie, you will have the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of 1500+ Metrie colleagues across North America. You will manage day-to-day internal and external Metrie communication channels, plan company-wide events, and provide internal communications support across our Metrie team, including executives. This includes content and collateral development used for employer branding, presentations, culture and engagement work.

Contract Period: You are ideally available between January and August 2022.

Reporting Relationship: You will report directly to our Director of Culture and Engagement, and will work closely with our People and Culture Team. You will also be working closely with other cross-functional teams and leaders across Metrie.

Location: You are ideally based in Vancouver, BC. But we are open to remote candidates, with a preference for those who are located near our Metrie facilities (see Metrie.com for a full list of our offices).

At a high-level, your day-to-day will involve:

  • Metrie Loop (Our Digital Signage Program) 
    • Oversight and management of corporate content; keeping things fresh on a weekly basis by updating the corporate channel on Loop
    • Review monthly analytics and suggest support where required
    • Work with Metrie Loop project team to respond to Loop Champion issues/inquiries
  • Event Management 
    • Quarterly Director+ calls
    • Feb. company-wide annual recognition event
    • Apr. Director+ event in Austin, TX
    • Any other recognition-driven events (refer to 2021 plan, for examples)
  • Metrie Social (LinkedIn + Twitter content on Sprout)  
    • Post and manage content on Metrie’s LinkedIn and Twitter channels 3X/week via Sprout Social
  • Miscellaneous Communications Requests
    • Support the HR team and business leaders with communication-related requests (drafting comms. plans and supporting content) – including M&A activity.
    • Field questions about Metrie Connects and provide support to people who aren’t familiar with publishing
    • Support Director, Culture and Engagement with campaigns and other activities that support employer branding and efforts to reduce turnover – including culture decks, video, photo, advertising etc.
  • COVID Response Team
    • Weekly calls and ongoing support of COVID-related communications.

Who You Are

It would be an added bonus if you have:

  • Worked at a company with multiple locations and timezones
  • Experience communicating with plant/warehouse workers (unwired workforce)
  • Experience with internal communications support during the pandemic
