GCCC introduces remote proctoring for CMP® and SCMP® certifications

With remote proctoring, you now have the option to write your CMP® or SCMP® certification exam from the comfort of your own home or office at a time that works for you.

Announced in August 2022, the Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC) offers a 100% cloud-based option which features a simple interface with a stress-free environment, which means for some, taking an exam has never been easier!

Traditionally these exams only took place in-person in limited locations. Thankfully thanks to GCCC’s partnership with Prolydian/Examity, each candidate now has the flexibility to choose the exam option that works best for them.

Benefits of remote-proctored exams:

Reduced costs  If the closest exam to you isn’t in your city, an online exam will save money on travel and accommodation. Exam fees are still applicable.
Time While you should prepare well ahead of your exam, in-person exams may not work for your schedule. Remote proctoring is booked at your convenience to suit your schedule.
Comfort Writing exams in-person can be challenging for some people and nerves can get in the way. Now you can write the exam in the comfort of your home or office.

How does it work?

  1. Submit your CMP® or SCMP® certification application to GCCC
  2. Once approved to take the exam, you can schedule your online exam for any day at any time, but just not on the same day you were approved.
  3. You will be assigned a proctor who will observe you remotely while you complete your exam.

IABC/BC will continue to offer in-person exams, but it is expected that this additional exam option will support more communications professionals to achieve their CMP® and SCMP® certification, the only professional certifications that meet the global standard.

When you’re ready, take that step to become certified to showcase your knowledge and expertise, and provide evidence of your abilities.
