About the presenters: 

Maycko Macapugas 

Maycko Macapugas is a dynamic and innovative professional known for his community-centred and collaborative leadership style. In the short career he’s had so far, he’s managed to help support countless entrepreneurs and youth leaders. Maycko holds a degree in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting and management information systems, and uses this technical training to strike a balance between hard cold facts and the tact needed for exceptional teamwork. While serving on the IABC/BC board of directors for over three years, Maycko has also built a personal brand, Foliage Filipino, that explores the relationship between plants and cultural heritage – garnering a large following. Maycko is excited to share his learnings from his diverse experiences to SIG attendees.

 

 

Hana Kim

Hana Kim started her career in social media and marketing in the niche community of BC Basketball. At age 19, she created the first Instagram page dedicated to social content on BC Basketball. Through this personal portfolio, she created the first social media coordinator role at UBC Varsity Athletics, where she worked as the “media” guy for UBC Men’s Basketball for three seasons, and two seasons with UBC Football. In addition to her sports roles, she worked in various marketing jobs throughout her undergrad such as GURU Energy Drink, Vancouver Bandits, the Plug Vancouver and Joybox. Currently, she is working at Flair Airlines and the CFL.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are small informal gatherings, where like-minded communicators meet to connect and exchange knowledge around relevant, emerging topics within the communications community. There is no charge for IABC/BC members, and a nominal fee for non-members.
