Career Development

Manager, Certification

There are a number of roles available on our Career Development team! This team supports our Mentorship program, IABC Certification, and Gift of Communication.

  • Hours per week: 1-2, but may increase and decrease depending on deadlines

Digital Experience

Digital Experience Specialist

  • Hours per week: 1-2
  • Support with website updates, managing the Google Workspace and more

Events

Social Events Coordinator

  • Hours per week: 1-2
  • Support the Special Interest Group events and would help manage attendees, write social and newsletter blurbs about the events, attend SIGs, and assist with running Zoom

Membership

Member Engagement Manager

  • Hours per week: 1-2
  • Direct outreach to recruit new members, focusing on corporate and group memberships. Each month, I pull member lists and numbers. In this role, the person will determine ways to engage people in membership and work with the content manager to create campaign content.

Professional Development

If you resonate with all of this, join us as Manager, Events Professional Development to support IABC/BC’s events while benefiting from meaningful networking and enhancing your event management skills.

  • Team meetings: Approximately 2 hours per month
  • Event planning and hosting: Approximately 15-20 hours per event (over the course of one to two months, more hours building up to the event)

Coordinator of Professional Development Events

Do you…

  • Enjoy planning and organizing successful events?
  • Have strong organizational, event planning and communication skills?
  • Want to be a part of a team with the purpose to deliver programming and events for students and new communicators for both members and non-members of IABC/BC?

IABC/BC’s Professional Development Events portfolio is searching for an Event Coordinator to join the team in planning and executing events for members, professional communicators, students and those new to the communications profession. If you resonate with the above, join us to help support IABC/BC members and soon-to-be members in establishing themselves as a communications professional. You’ll benefit through continuous networking opportunities, working with friendly and supportive Professional Development Events team, and enhancing your event management, outreach and communication skills.

  • Team meetings: Approximately 2 hours per month
  • Pre-event planning: Approximately 2-4 hours per week (depends on the event)
  • Event hosting: Approximately 4 hours on the day of the event

Survey Manager

  • Hours per week: 1-2
  • Lead survey and monthly member database maintenance

Volunteer Services

Engagement Manager

  • Hours per week: 1-2
  • Support the Volunteer Services Director in recruitment and connecting with our passionate group of volunteers. Content creation may also be required.
