Digital Experience Specialist

This role will primarily support the development of the IABC/BC Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite) account, with an option to remain in the role past project completion to assist in website content management and web content strategy.

Background for this role

IABC/BC volunteers currently use Basecamp for online collaboration, while also using an array of Google drives for housing documents and folders. Moving to Google Workspace will provide access to additional tools, and will enable centralization of Google drives, making the collaboration experience seamless.

The Digital Experience Specialist has . . .

  •       An existing working knowledge of the Google Workspace platform and the cloud-based tools, such as Gmail, Google Chat, Google Calendar and Meet, Google Drive
  •       The ability to assign various permissions and access levels to different users
  •       An understanding of what information (if any) can be migrated electronically from Basecamp to Google Workspace
  •       A strong sense of curiosity that drives their ongoing learning of Google Workspace and their ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise in the process of building out the platform

Additional experience

  •       Knowledge of WordPress as a content management platform
  •       Familiarity with best practices for web writing and website content management

The role will assist in

  •       Building the IABC/BC Google Workspace by setting up the various tools (Chat, Calendar, Dashboard, etc.)
  •       Moving content from Basecamp to Google Workspace
  •       Testing at various stages of content population
  •       Providing Google Workspace training to IABC/BC volunteers

What you will get out of this role

This is an opportunity to provide hands-on support in the building of the IABC/BC Google Workspace. The Digital Experience Specialist will work closely with the Digital Experience Director and the past president, and will provide recommendations and advice on Google Workspace processes and best practices. 

Time commitment

1-2 hours a week, as soon as role is filled, through to expected completion of project (April or May 2024).

Option for the Digital Experience Specialist to continue in the volunteer role past the completion of the project, to assist in website content management.
