  • Join us as a Finance Manager / Director, where you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial health and integrity of IABC/BC, ensuring we achieve our mission effectively and sustainably.
  • The role is assigned as a 2 to 2.5 year term with a 3-6 month transition period between the Finance Directors. This role also serves as part of the Executive Team

The core responsibilities of the Finance Manager / Director is to manage and oversee the financial affairs of the IABC/BC, ensuring they are conducted legally, efficiently, and in alignment with the IABC International and BC chapters’ mission and goals. 

  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial affairs of the IABC/BC, ensuring they are legal, constitutional, and within accepted accounting practices.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Work with the bookkeepers and CPA firms to prepare and present budgets, accounts, and financial statements in coordination with the board.
  • Banking and Record Keeping: Manage bank accounts, ensure proper record keeping, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Financial Strategy: Contribute to the strategic planning of the IABC/BC with financial insights.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulatory requirements and assess financial risks.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Team and other Board of Directors to ensure the IABC/BC’s success.

Key Deliverables:

  • Budget and Finance Management: Achieve accurate budget forecasts versus actual expenditures and revenues. 
  • Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost-saving measures to reduce operational expenses annually. 
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accuracy in all financial reports and statements, with zero discrepancies in audits.  
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements. Cash Flow Management: Maintain a positive cash flow status throughout the year, with no instances of cash shortages. 
  • Risk Management: Successfully identify and mitigate the mission-critical potential financial risks before they impact the organization.


  • Prefer candidates with professional degrees in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience in financial management roles. 
  • Proven track record in financial administration would be a definite advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Must be an IABC/BC member when onboarding this role.

 Time Commitment:

  • 2 hours a week / 10-12 hours a month

Skills Learned:

  • Non-Profit Financial Management: Gain expertise in managing finances specific to non-profit organizations, including fundraising, grant management, and donor reporting.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Learn about financial regulatory requirements and risk management strategies pertinent to non-profits.
  • Leadership and Communication: Develop strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with board members, staff, and stakeholders.
